Lobby closureBBEDC Office Closed to In-Person Traffic until Further Notice

To ensure the health and safety of our staff, clients, visitors and community, BBEDC has closed its office to in-person traffic until further notice. Click on the flyer at left for more information. All forms and applications can be found on our website and any questions can be answered by calling 907-842-4370. If you think you will have residency issues or other program eligibility issues related to travel restrictions and COVID-19, please call the BBEDC offices and notify us or email admin@bbedc.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The BBEDC Board has also issued a travel ban for programs and staff. Please call 843-4370 for more information or to see if this affects a program you are interested in.

Residency Policy Changes

The BBEDC Board has revised its Residency Policy to be effective January 1, 2021. Eligibility for BBEDC residency will change from residing in a BBEDC CDQ community for the previous 12 months to the previous 24 months. Residency must be renewed annually. Please thoroughly review the 2021 BBEDC Affidavit of Residency to familiarize yourself with the documentation needed to verify and qualify for residency and participation in BBEDC programs. AK-ARPA Business Relief Program

The Alaska State Legislature appropriated $90 million from the State’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Covid State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) toward a tourism and business relief grant program to be administered by the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED).

The application period opened at 8:00 am on Friday, September 17, 2021 and will remain open until 8:00 am on October 19, 2021. The AK-ARPA business grant program is not a first-come, first-served grant opportunity.

Optionally, complete a preliminary AK-ARPA Screening Questionnaire to quickly determine whether your business is eligible for an AK-ARPA Business Relief grant.

Applications must be submitted online through the MyAlaska system.

Reminder to Vessel Upgrade and RSW Purchase Program Recipients

If you received a Vessel Upgrade Grant or RSW system through the RSW Purchase Program during the years of 2017 – 2020, you must supply the following to the Regional Fisheries Department by October 15, 2021:

  • Proof of actively participating in the Bristol Bay salmon fishery for the 2021 salmon season while using the same vessel or vehicle that received the upgrades.
  • Proof that you have maintained residency within the region for 2021 by completing the Affidavit of Residency Form

Failure to supply these documents may result in an obligation to repay the grant funds received. If you have already submitted the information for the current year, thank you!
