Permit Brokerage

Bristol Bay Permit Brokerage was established in 1994 to work toward retaining local ownership of permits in the Bristol Bay region. Staff works closely with lending agencies and resident fisherman in finding alternative solutions to foreclosure and permit seizures.

In addition, BBPB staff maintains lists of buyers and sellers of permits and boats, as well as connects interested parties looking for emergency transfers and/or boat leasing deals. As the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission is no longer able to bring staff to Bristol Bay for annual permit and boat licensing renewals - BBPB has filled this void and provides this service to resident fishermen as well.
