BBEDC offers jobs on the Bering Sea for those able to work long hours for relatively short periods of time.
These jobs generate excellent wages, often enough to sustain a family throughout the year, and occur throughout the year.
BBEDC has a fulltime recruiter stationed in the Dillingham office with the primary responsibility of traveling to CDQ and non-CDQ communities to administer the mandatory drug tests required by seafood employers and help people fill out applications. |
BBEDC fisheries and seasons include:
- Pollock A Season – January to March
- Pollock B Season – June through October
- Longline Seasons – Varies throughout the year
- Shore-based jobs – Varies throughout the year
- Crab Seasons – Fall and early winter months
- Multi-Species – Year-around fisheries
During 2006, 41 positions were filled on pollock catcher processors, longline, crab, multi-species trawl vessels, floating processors, and land plants. Bristol Bay residents earned over $796,000.00 in wages with BBEDC partner companies in 2006. |
