Harvey Samuelsen Scholarship Trust – Deadline June 7th, 2024 @ 5PM

HSST Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year are now available. Applications must be complete and submitted either by email, fax, or dropped off at the Dillingham office prior to the deadline in order to be considered for funding. For more information and and to download a copy of the application please click here.

2024 Tax Tips

It's time to begin planning to file your 2023 federal income tax return whether you prepare your own return or use a professional.  Eligible BBEDC residents can apply for BBEDC's 2024 Tax Preparation Program to receive a $150 subsidy per return on your approved resident professional tax preparer's fee.  Applications are available here.  Also, check out our 2024 Tax Tips!

Position Title: Economic Development & Brokerage Coordinator

Position Description:

The Economic Development & Brokerage Coordinator assists in the implementation of BBEDC’s Economic Development and Permit Brokerage programs.  This position performs community outreach, compiles information and statistics, processes program applications, maintains organization of program material and provides information and assistance to the public. Familiarity with loans and grants, as an applicant and/or agency reviewer.
 
Reports To: Economic Development & Brokerage Director
Salary Range: $28.50 – $31.25/hourly; DOE

SAVEC Job Opportunity

Southwest Alaska Vocational & Educational Center (SAVEC) has an opening for a Grant/Program Director. This person would report directly to the Executive Director at their offices located in King Salmon.  Application period is open until filled, and the position is scheduled to start immediately.

“We are happy to announce that BBEDC is now open to the public. You may also call 1-907-842-4370 to schedule an appointment. Masking is optional, but please honor the request of staff who feel more comfortable working closely with the use of a mask. Masks are available in the entryway.

Access to our public computers is on a first-come, first-served basis. Lobby capacity will be limited if necessary, and you may have to wait your turn in the entryway, outside or come back at a later time.

Effective 12/30/2022 , the BBEDC Board of Directors has authorized a return to pre-COVID residency requirements. Reminder: The BBEDC Affidavit of Residency and the Relationship Disclosure Form are required for ALL BBEDC /programs. Residency Forms must be renewed annually with supporting documents and Relationship Disclosure Forms must accompany every application. If you have any any questions regarding residency requirements or questions about any absences you may need to take, please contact BBEDC and have them addressed BEFORE you begin your travel. BBEDC 2023 Program Directory 

The 2023 Program Directory has arrived. If you are interested in a quick summary of all BBEDC programs, see it here. Be sure to check out new details in the Vessel Upgrade, Vessel Aquisition, Pre-Season Advance, and Community Block Grant programs. Here are some highlights:

  • The BBEDC Board of Directors has allocated $750,000 per community in the Community Block Grant Program. 
  • There is now a second opportunity to access the Vessel Upgrade Grant Program if you have not received a grant in the past 3 years.
  • The Vessel Acquisition Program is now open to Bristol Bay Watershed residents AND there is a second opportunity to use the grant program.
  • The Pre-Season Advance Program is now open to Bristol Bay Watershed residents.

2022 Northern Economics Report- The Importance of the Bristol Bay Salmon Fisheries to the Region and its Residents
